Opening of the Academic Year: Climate change as a new business reality
Last Thursday, 6 September 2018, we officially opened the Academic Year! This year's theme was "Climate change as a new business reality". We welcomed speakers on climate change and handed out awards to best students, lecturers and researchers.
With inspiring lectures from Marcel Beukeboom, Climate Envoy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Matthijs Bierman, Managing Director of Triodos Bank Nederland.
Marcel Beukeboom shared his views on: What do the (inter)national climate agreements imply for businesses and the economy in the years to come? Matthijs Bierman discussed: Responsible or complicit? The role of banks in the energy transition.
Besides the lectures we had an awards ceremony for the freshmen of the year, the newcomer of the year, the lecturer of the year and the researchers of the year.
