Guest researcher Agnė Zemkajute working at Special Collections

02 October 2023

This October, Agnė Zemkajute is working at Special Collections in the University of Groningen Library. Agnė is a staff member of the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in Vilnius, where she previously catalogued the incunabula and is now curating the exhibitions. On a grant of the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL) and the University of Groningen Library Agnė is now describing the material evidence found in the Groningen incunabula in the CERL-database Material Evidence in Incunabula (MEI). Eventually, all Groningen incunabula will be catalogued in MEI, making valuable data on these oldest printed books available internationally for teaching and research and bringing to light hidden connections with books elsewhere. This recent example illustrates the importance of MEI.
