Kick-off meeting of the Honours Master programme on High Tech Systems and Materials
The Kick-off meeting of the Honours Master programme on High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM) took place at the Honours College on October 25. The new students met with the industrial partners that will guide them during their master studies: Philips Consumer Lifestyle - international brand for customer products and healthcare systems, BD Kiestra- leader in the manufacture of systems for clinical microbiology laboratories, and the front runner in discoveries in radio astronomy, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON).
The meeting was a pleasant opportunity to get to know each other. During the meeting the students had the chance to discover the challenges that the companies will offer them for their summer school projects.
The meeting was opened by the dean of the Honours College, Prof. Hanny Elzinga. Subsequently, Bram Lap, second year student of the HTSM Master, presented his summer school’s experience at Philips last year.
The meeting ended with a nice dinner at the Van Swinderen Huys.
The Honours College wishes good luck to the new students and looks forward to hearing about the outcomes of these exciting challenges!
